On Thursday 8th October the bilingual students of HAVO 4 received their Anglia Certificates.
These former HAVO 3 TTO students sat their exam in June last year. The areas that were tested in the Anglia exam are listening, reading and writing. The Anglia certificate is accepted by a lot of British universities and demonstrates competence in the English language on an international level.
For this special occasion their mentor of last year took us through the achievements of three years of bilingual education. He also highlighted the special activities in which these students took part, like trips, exchanges, celebrations all livened with photos from and stories by the students. Together with their certificate each student got an individual word in a sentence that fitted him or her. So we learned the (new) words: sanguine, indefatigable, cogent, assiduous, to extol, demure, gregarious, alacrity, jubilant, winsome, pithy and ebullient.
The following students past the exam on Proficiency level: Sander Alvarez (distinction), Patrick Brouwers (distinction), Arjan van der Heijden (distinction), Bram van der Heijden (distinction), Raymond Janssen (distinction), Jop Sforza (distinction), Mieke Teeven (merit), Niek Truijen (distinction), Damian van Veldhoven (distinction), Aase Wip (distinction), Ivanka Oosterhof (distinction) and Ralf Slenders (distinction) past the exam on Advanced level.
