Very early on the 15th of May, the students of H1a and their mentors departed from Weert. After a 5 hour drive we arrived in Calais. There was a lot of fog, but as we came closer to  Dover the fog cleared and we got an amazing view of the White Cliffs. The first activity was hiking on the White Cliffs, where we were treated to some amazing views! In Canterbury itself we did a city walk before everybody departed to their host families. Some students were quite nervous about staying in a host family fort he first time. On the second day we visited the Canterbury Cathedral in the morning. In the afternoon we enjoyed a river boat cruise and we ended our day with a theatre workshop in which the students could show off their creativity. On the 3rd and final day of this trip abroad, we visited Dover Castle before departing back to Weert, where we arrived late in the evening. I think we can look back on an enjoyable trip in which students, besides participating in all the programme components, also experienced personal growth!
