The HAVO 4 TTO students’ exchange started on the 9th of May with a sunny day in Budapest.
After a warm welcome at their school the Hungarian students showed us around at the castle district in Buda.
On Tuesday morning the students started with a PE lesson followed by an English language lesson. Sightseeing in the Jewish district included a visit to the Orthodox Synagogue, for many of us a first time and very worthwhile. The afternoon was concluded by a guided tour of the parliament where the safety precautions equaled the ones at the airport.
Wednesday 11 May we had an all-day city tour, which included nice views from the basilica tower as well as from the Danube. Meanwhile the students took part in games and tasks organized by their hosts. Luckily the weather changed from cloudy to sunny without rain.
After the PE lesson on Thursday there was another English class. This afternoon we did a tour of the cavern hospital underneath the castle in Buda.
The evening farewell at AKG was lots of fun and full of local specialties.
On Friday we returned home and some of us will never forget this trip to Budapest.
