Erasmus+ project
On March the 5th, five students of the Havo 5 bilingual group went to Salamanca in Spain to visit the final conference of the Erasmus+ project. Aim of this project is to develop mutual understanding and to deepen the knowledge and respect for the different cultures between the six participating European countries of this project.
The Erasmus+ project was kicked off last year at the conference in Budapest, followed by conferences in Rieti (Italy) and Kristinehamn (Sweden).
During these four conferences the students have been given a number of topics which they had to discuss in smaller groups. They focused on the EU refugee problem, motivation of students and decreasing school dropouts, peer mediation on schools and growing nationalism in EU countries. Each group consisted of students from Spain, Italy, Hungary, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands.
At the final day of the Salamanca conference there was a live videoconference with the EU commissioner of education, Mr Rodrigo Ballester, who answered the questions the students had prepared for him during the work sessions the previous days.
