Exchange between H2A Philips van Horne and Alexandru Ceusianu in Reghin.
Late in the afternoon on Tuesday the 4th of April our Romanian guests arrived at the Philips van Horne. After welcoming our guests, they went home with their host family to spend their first night in the Netherlands.
The next day started at the Philips van Horne with some subject lessons (geography, English) followed by an R&D assignment: how NOT to break an egg. In the afternoon mixed groups of Dutch and Romanian students went for a city walk and afterwards they brought a visit to the mayor of Weert whom they could ask several questions during the visit. There was also an evening program on Wednesday: bowling in Nederweert. On Thursday we started the day with a sports program at the Philips van Horne and we spend the afternoon at the Nature and Environment Centre at the IJzeren Man, where the students conducted all sorts of tests, including a soil drilling.
On Friday, the last day of the exchange program, we brought a visit to the Efteling. On Saturday our guests were brought back to Eindhoven Airport around noon to catch their return flight.
Although we had to reschedule this exchange week at first, we can look back at an enjoyable week, with a lot of interaction between the students and teachers. A week that brought us a lot of new experiences and new memories. An experience that will last a lifetime!
