Exchange to Hungary 2019 with the Alternatív Közgazdasági Gimnázium in Budapest.
On Tuesday the 9th April 2019 a group of 18 students of H4 and 11 students of H2A and the accompanying teachers left for Budapest from Eindhoven airport. The H4 students left early and started with a day at the school and the H2A students left in the afternoon and were picked up by their hosts at the airport.
The hosts had prepared almost the same programme for the two groups, although on different days. Only the last day we all went to the Heroes’ Square and the Budapest Zoo all together.
On Wednesday the H2A group visited the Parliament in the morning, took lunch at school and did some “fun and games” in the afternoon. At 19.30 we had an evening sightseeing from the Gellert hill.
Thursday started for H2A at school with a PE lesson, an English lesson and some lessons in the Hungarian language, which were very difficult to comprehend. After lunch we went to Buda Castle where the AKG students explained some of the history to us as we walked around this beautiful site. After that we visited the Rock Hospital which was very impressive.
Friday, our last full day in Budapest, we visited the Zoo where we enjoyed the large number of different species in their nice although small surroundings. The afternoon was free for family activities.
Saturday morning, very early, the H4 group returned home. The H2a students returned to Eindhoven in the afternoon, where the parents awaited our return. All in all, we had a very enjoyable and active trip and we can certainly look back on close friendships that were made and interesting experiences that were shared with fun and laughter. Thank you to all the accompanying teachers and the organisers for a successful exchange. It was great!
