In 2005 veterans Maarten Hansson and Eric Schoonen started developping the project ‘Veterans’ stories’ which was meant to make pupils more aware of the complexity of war and peace missions.
On Thursday and Friday, 11th and 12th May, Maarten and Eric shared their experiences related to their missions in Bosnia and Lebanon with all TTO groups of Het College.
Besides telling their personal stories, they also discussed some realistic dilemmas with the pupils. The exercise where the pupils had to decide what to do in a given difficult situation, made them realise how complicated this is for soldiers on a mission.
