On Wednesday the 15th April 2015, Wissal Mephtah represented the Philips van Horne school at the Grand Final of the Junior Speaking Contest in Amersfoort.
Although she wasn't one of the winners she did extremely well and her fans and classmates all thought that she actually deserved to win.
Wissal didn't show any signs of nerves even though it is quite a nerve-racking experience to speak in front of a large audience. She was very professional and she did a fantastic job representing the school.
This experience has made her even more determined to take part again next year and she hopes more of her classmates will take up the challenge.
Speaking in public is something that everyone has to do sometime in their lives so taking part in a competition like this is excellent practice for the future.
Well done Wissal! We're very proud of you!
