Saturday, September 8th, 14 students and 2 teachers left from Eindhoven airport for Malta. The adventure started on the plane as the steward asked “is there a doctor on the plane, could you please come forward” and that concerned someone in our group… Luckily, it wasn’t an emergency and it all turned out well.
This first day was for travelling, meeting the host family and free time to discover Malta.
Sunday was the culture day. First we visited Mdina where we admired the St. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral, experienced the Knights of Malta in 3-D, lunched at the Fontanella Tea Gardens and walked through this silent city. Then we went by bus to Valletta to do a walking tour in Malta’s capital. Due to the hot weather everyone was quite tired after that.
After the meeting at AM Language Studio on Monday morning all the students started their internships. This year the locations were scattered all over the island and one student even worked on a boat.
The last day of our trip was a leisure day which we spent on the island of Comina where we swam in the Blue Lagoon.
For the return flight on Saturday we had to leave our host families at 3:40. This meant most of us needed the rest of the weekend to get the necessary rest.
